RICHMOND, BC—Public Services and Procurement Canada, on behalf of the Canadian Coast Guard, has awarded a $1 million contract to Canadyne Technologies Inc., from Richmond BC, for the acquisition of 67,000 feet of curtain booms and associated products and services.

The contract includes options to acquire up to 330,000 additional feet of curtain booms and associated products and services.

The Canadian Coast Guard uses curtain booms to contain environmental spills and reduce the possibility of polluting shorelines and other resources, along with helping efforts to recover unwanted contaminants. This new equipment will be delivered before the end of the year.

The initial contract will create up to six new jobs, while maintaining 10 existing jobs.
