Two sustainability awards for Cascades

Company recognized for its online boutique and efforts to create sustainable supply chain

KINGSEY FALLS, QC: Cascades has received two corporate responsibility awards, one for Excellence in Corporate Responsibility, awarded by Green Living Enterprises, and Greening the Supply Chain, awarded by the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters.

Cascades received the Excellence in Corporate Responsibility award for its online boutique (, which offers products that are environmentally sustainable, such as Christmas trees, children’s furniture and pet homes. All of the products are made of recycled cardboard. “We are happy that our sustainable business practices and our dedication towards the creation of eco-responsible products have been recognized,” said Carl Blanchet, Cascades’ corporate director of business development.

Cascades landed the Greening the Supply Chain award for the company’s efforts to render its supply chain more respectful of the environment and to reduce its carbon footprint. “We’re particularly proud to receive this award in view of the outstanding reputation of the other finalists in the area of responsible procurement,” stated Christine Lemieux, director of international operations at Cascades.
