Database covers over 180 vendors in 50 countries and regions
VANCOUVER: IE Market Research Corporation (IEMR), a provider of market intelligence services, has released its 4Q.2011 Global Handset Sales Market Share and 2012-2013 Forecast database. With coverage of more than 180 vendors in 50 countries and regional markets, IEMR said its Global Handset Market Share and Forecast is one of the most comprehensive databases of its kind in the world. The database provides estimates and forecasts at the country level based on primary field research done in these markets as part of IEMR’s surveys of 50,000 consumers and 5,000 enterprises globally. Also included are shipment data disclosed by vendors and point of sale (POS) data available through various vendors, including operators.
“Our current database now covers historical (1Q.2004 – 4Q.2011) and forecasted sales and shipment data for over 180-plus mobile handset vendors in 50 countries and regions globally and is one of the most comprehensive databases of its kind in the world,” said Nizar Assanie, vice-president of research at IEMR. “We see a number of key battlegrounds taking shape globally. Nokia, Samsung, LG and Japanese vendors are seeing market share losses in their home markets while market shares of players such as Apple and ZTE are on the rise. Our latest database is an essential tool to track no only large global vendors but also dozens of local vendors that are fast emerging in markets such as India, China, Indonesia, and the Philippines and are taking market share away from Tier-1 vendors.”
The organization has added a PowerPoint presentation prepared by its analysts, including IEMR’s executive associate Dr. Antti Koivula, who worked at Nokia for 12 years where he held key roles in strategy creation, organizational change and product and business line management.
