The village will provide accommodations for the games' athletes and officials
TORONTO: The Dundee Kilmer consortium has been chosen to design, build and finance the athletes village for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. The group of companies, led by Dundee Realty Corp and Kilmer Van Nostrand Co, was named September 2 as the preferred bidder for the project. Infrastructure Ontario and Waterfront Toronto said negotiations on a final contract are expected to be completed this fall.
The project’s cost will be made public at that time and construction will begin shortly afterward, the agencies said.
The village will provide accommodations for athletes and officials for the Pan American Games in July 2015 and the Parapan Am Games in August 2015. It will also include non-residential facilities such as a media centre and medical clinic.
Other members of the group include EllisDon Corp, Ledcor Design Build (Ontario) and Brookfield Financial Corp.
