Domtar business paper uses ColorLok technology
MONTREAL: Domtar Corporation has extended its use of technology designed to produce sharper printer images and faster drying times.
The company said it has expanded its use of ColorLok technology to all its business papers. According to ColorLok’s website, its product uses additives that react with printer inks, causing the ink to absorb more deeply into the paper while holding pigment close to the surface. Paper that uses the ColorLok logo must pass a set of standards in areas such as print quality and reliability.
“We are pleased to extend ColorLok technology, a performance-based standard, to all Domtar branded business papers,” said Karin Flemming, Domtar marketing manager, business papers. “In so doing, (we’re) providing our customers with high-quality, environmentally responsible paper products in both virgin and recycled content options.”
For inkjet printers, the benefits of ColorLok include bolder, sharper images and faster drying times, said Domtar. The benefits for laser printers include consistent imaging and extended printer life.
Domtar began using ColorLok performance standards in 2008 by incorporating the technology into its First Choice business papers line and Imageprint brand multiuse papers. Domtar Copy, Domtar EarthChoice Office Paper, Husky Copy and Recycled Husky Copy are now available with ColorLok.
