QUEBEC CITY: Discovery Air Technical Services Inc (DATS) has recently been awarded two contracts, one with ATR launch customer PASCAN Express and another with Air Guyane Express. The contracts are for maintenance services and the company has scheduled its first heavy check with Pascan on May 27.

“We are extremely pleased that our ATR heavy maintenance service has launched with two important customers,” said Calvin Tuitt, DATS vice-president of sales and marketing. The company has also signed an agreement with Peninsula Airways (PenAir) of Alaska for the maintenance of PenAir’s SAAB340 aircraft.

“We are very pleased to see that DATS has re-delivered our first SAAB 340 aircraft in line with our agreement,” said Mike Bradley, VP of maintenance and engineering at PenAir. “The DATS Team of technicians was able to turn our first aircraft around without issue four days earlier than anticipated, allowing us to place the aircraft directly back into revenue service with no snags. We felt very comfortable sending a second SAAB to DATS right away.”
