Five small cars that make the grade for 2014 by Emily Atkins
Compact cars are a staple in many fleets. They are prized for their low cost of entry, lower operating costs and frequently lower insurance rates. There are also many to choose from in any given year, with all the manufacturers offering at least one or two that come onto the market at a base price around $20,000.
We’ve road tested quite a few, and have picked several to highlight here, from the Mazda3, which we predict will be the best in class in the AJAC awards for 2014, to the thrifty Nissan Versa Note, Subaru Impreza, Fiat 500, and the all-new Toyota Corolla.
