SAINTE-CLAIRE, QC: Volvo Group subsidiary Prevost, which specializes in the manufacture of touring coaches and bus shells, has landed a contract to deliver 60 vehicles to bus transportation company Greyhound. The delivery of 60 X-series coaches (X3-45 model) will be completed in October 2012.
“This is excellent news for Prevost,” said Daniel Beaudoin, the company’s vice-president of human resources and communications. “By the end of May, we will be increasing production to 2.5 vehicles a day, and a progressive recall of about 70 employees is expected in the coming weeks.”
The X3-45 model is designed for intercity transportation, said Prevost, and features low overall height with a floor-to-ceiling height of 80inches and the Swap & Plug wheelchair lift system.
