TORONTO—Through the Leenders SCMA Chair at Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University and the HEC Montréal Chair in Supply Management, SCMA provides support to students and academics through funding grants, scholarships and awards.

This year Peter Spence, candidate for a master of business administration at the Ivey School of Business, Western University in London, Ontario, was awarded the SCMA Scholarship, named by Ivey as the Supply Chain Management Association MBA Award, consisting of a $2,500 scholarship.

“The award has made a significant impact on my MBA experience and the skills I have learned in supply chain management will have a strong impact on my experiences in my career,” said Spence.

Along with exceptional academic achievements, Spence has demonstrated great professionalism and leadership potential during his experiences at Nexen Energy ULC as a drilling engineer over the last six years, said SCMA. He is now moving forward in his career in the field of operation management within the oil and gas industry as a consultant with Partners in Performance (PIP).
