ATLANTA: ORBIS Corporation has released a life-cycle assessment service that will provide data detailing a company’s environmental impact based on comparing packaging scenarios. The report will compare packaging data using life-cycle assessment (LCA) methodology and suggest opportunities for increased environmental sustainability.

ORBIS said its sales team will work with customers and the company’s engineering department to complete a worksheet with data on current practices. ORBIS will analyze the information and provide customers with the impact reusable packaging has made, or has the potential to make, on their business. By comparing past practices with planned or newly implemented practices, companies can measure the environmental impact of adopting reusable packaging.

With calculations available through the service, businesses receive a report comparing and evaluating energy used, solid waste generated and greenhouse gases used for different packaging options. They also can identify opportunities for improvement. Orbis said using LCA methodology can help end users with data to make better environmental decisions using various methods of transport packaging, such as like reusable packaging.
