TORONTO—OMX has launched a searchable database that will allow companies with government contracts in the defence, aerospace and security industry to connect with Canadian businesses. The OMX marketplace provides access to potential Canadian recipients by region, classification and capability, says Nicole Verkindt, the company’s founder.
“This is a major first step in a string of innovative releases which we are planning for the next six to twelve months,” said Verkindt, a veteran of the Canadian small manufacturing sector in the defence industry.
The OMX marketplace provides a view into the Canadian defence, aerospace and security landscape, including company profiles of over 50,000 Canadian suppliers. Since its founding in February 2012, OMX has been working with large government contractors to ensure that the system meets their requirements. However, in announcing the launch of the online exchange, Verkindt stressed that OMX’s primary focus is around SMEs and how they can access domestic contracts. Click here to visit the OMX site.
