Contract provides high-speed scales and verification system for California commercial vehicle enforcement facility
SASKATOON: International Road Dynamics Inc has been awarded a CDN$1.3 million contract to provide a high-speed weigh-in-motion (WIM) and verification system for a new commercial vehicle enforcement facility (CVEF) in Solano County, California. Local law enforcement will use the system to select and direct commercial vehicles into the facility. As well, the California Department of Transportation will use the system for traffic planning purposes.
“We are pleased to be participating in this project which expands our significant deployment of over 500 lanes of traffic data collection systems using Weigh-in-Motion in California,” said Terry Bergan, IRD’s president and CEO. “Under this contract, we will be providing systems and solutions which are recognized world-wide as the best in the industry.”
IRD said it will supply an integrated system including its single load cell and bending plate WIM scales with its iSINC Controller Electronics. The traffic data information collected by the system is used for pavement studies, highway monitoring, capacity studies, accident rate calculations and truck transport practices analysis. IRD supplies products and systems to the global Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry.
