DDS Wireless wins $2.3M contract from Los Angeles taxi cooperative

Contract means one of the largest installations of its Vector 9000 wireless mobile computers in North America

RICHMOND, B.C.—DDS Wireless International Inc. says its taxi unit, Digital Dispatch, has won a $2.3-million contract to sell a software package and wireless mobile computers to LA Taxi Co-operative, part of one the largest taxi cooperatives in the United States.

The Richmond, B.C., company said the deal includes an extended service agreement.

The Los Angeles taxi service has been a DDS customer since 2003 and the contract will extend the relationship until at least 2018.

DDS said the contract will lead to one of the largest installations of its Vector 9000 wireless mobile computers in North America.

DDS Wireless provides software for the transportation industry, including transit routing, scheduling and real-time dispatching. It supports customers around the world from offices in Canada, Finland, Singapore, Sweden, the U.K. and the United States.
