LACHINE, QC: Global Railway Industries Ltd announced that Metrolinx has awarded a contract to its wholly-owned subsidiary CAD Railway Industries Ltd to refurbish railway passenger cars. Global Railway said CAD’s bid for the large, long-term transit refurbishment contract was the lowest price bid of three bidders.
“We are extremely pleased to be selected as the winning bidder in the tender process,” said Fausto Levy, Global’s president and CEO. “We look forward to finalizing the contract documents with Metrolinx and commencing work on this project.”
Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario, was set up in 2006 to develop and implement an integrated transportation system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas.
The contract award is subject to finalization of the terms and conditions, as well as insurance and contract security requirements. Global said the contract documents will be finalized on or before July 11.
